If you're in need of a pick-me-up for your face or need to look your best for that special date, this is the mask you want to use!
A great way to clean your pores, help with acne, soothe dry skin and simply relax. This nourishing, softening, purifying, cleansing and moisturizing super easy to make mask is packed with a punch!
Avocado one of my favorite super fruits! Filled with tons of nutrients, vitamin A, C and B6 plus essential fatty acids, it provides nourishment and moisture to even the driest skin.
Honey the oldest and sweetest anti-bacterial, used for centuries to treat wounds and burns.
Dead Sea Salt and Raw Sugar both fabulous as exfoliants but salt even better for acne prone or oily skin to dry pimples and replenish the skin from the loss of essential minerals.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil with essential fatty acids, plus vitamin E, K, omega 3 and 6, this non-comedogenic oil does an amazing job at balancing the skin and moisturize even the most sensitive of skins.
Lime Juice has amazing clearing and antibacterial properties, plus it's high in vitamin C to help in the production of collagen and slow down free radical damage.
To make this super powerful mask you'll need...
1/2 ripen avocado pulp
2 tablespoons of honey
2 tablespoons of dead sea salt or any other sea salt, (avoid using table salt as it doesn't have the same mineral content)
2 tablespoons of raw sugar
About 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons of lime juice
2 slices of cold fresh cucumber with the skin on (for your eyes)
A blender or a stick blender and a bowl
Make the mask!...
Take the avocado pulp, the honey and the lime juice and put everything in a blender. Turn the blender or stick blender on and slowly add the olive oil. You're looking to get a thick cream so go slow on the olive oil, as depending on the size of the avocado you might not use all the olive oil or you might need a little bit more. Spoon out the avocado cream into a bowl. Add the salt and sugar and incorporate with a wood spoon.
*If you don't want to use the salt in your mask just double the amount of sugar.
**Use immediately as the avocado even with lime oxidizes very quickly.
***If instead you want a cold mask, place the olive oil and the avocado in the refrigerator overnight.
Ready to use it?...
Make sure your face is clean and without any traces of makeup. With your fingers apply a generous amount of the mask on your face and scrub all over in circular motion to exfoliate for at least a couple of minutes. Avoid the eyes area. Once you're done exfoliating apply the rest of the mask on your face and leave on for at least 15-20 minutes. Apply the 2 slices of cucumber in your eyes, lay back and relax! Once the time is up, rinse with fresh water and pat dry.
Your skin will feel moisturized, rejuvenated and radiant! And since it's been super-moisturized you won't need to apply any lotion!
Use it once or twice a week for best results.
